You'll probably laugh at me, but how do make it block out low frequencies, instead of blocking high frequencies?

So you want a crossover to block out low frequencies? For example, you wish to build one for a 6.5" woofer and you don't want it to play any lower than 120Hz? You would just have to build a high-pass x-over with a cut-off freq. of 120Hz. It'd be pretty easy, much easier than the one that I just built.

PM me and I'll help you out.

        Wassup guys,

Right now I am getting ready to start building a 3-way crossover! I have my Infinity Reference Components, and Kicker RMB6. Need to get my supplies, but before that need to figure out what I need and how to wire it up. A little more complex than a 2-way.

-Kickers range is from 30-500 Hz

-Reference woofers range is from 55-???? Hz

        -Tweeters are from ????-21,000 Hz

Anyone know how to do this. I better getting researching. And need to find a decent 4channel amp. Anyone got one?

          Wait, this may be easier!

          EDIT:

I lied, I thought they were adjustable! Damnit!

I'd make the cutoff between the 5.25" and the tweeter around 4500 Hz.

I'd have the kickers set at about 2500Hz

            I'd buy this amp:

            And make the Cross-Over Tri-amplifiable.

Kickers range is only: 50Hz - 500Hz, as stated. ;)

What? That's insane. How can they only run from 50-500? Or is that how you want them to play?

Have you considered getting an AudioControl signal processor? Active Crossovers are much better than passive one, and AudioControl makes the best (well, them and PG). You could adjust all of your channels separately and then run the signal into the amp.

I'd definitley recomend that a/d/s/ 6-channel. Any hi-fi guru on here will tell you the same.

I may have to consider the signal processor. And I will look into that amp.

According to the website, and the box, that is the range for the kickers. That is very odd, but maybe that is just what they want them to play.

The signal processor will be more expensive without a doubt, but it will yield the best sound and control of that sound.

Definitely check that amp out. It's a great price, in my opinion.

If I were doing it, I'd want the kickers to play at least 1000Hz, but 500 wouldn't be too bad if they were in the rear deck.

Yeah, they are going into the rear deck. So I dont think I would want them to play over 500, they would mess with the sound stage probably. How much do you think it would be to get that amp, and the processor used? Any ideas?

That's a pretty damn good price for the a/d/s/, especially since it's new. You'll be hardpreseed to find a cheaper 6-channel amp.

How many pre-amp outputs does your CD player have?

                            Preamp Outputs 2 pair

                            It is the Clarion DXZ535

No dedicated sub output either. But I dont plan on a sub anyways.

What about something like this: http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/COUXM6

This amp any good oh master: http://caraudioforum.com/showthread....hreadid=181550

The a/d/s at the bottom. Not sure if it is for sale still but maybe?

The P640 is fucking amazing! For only $150!? Get it. I think it's the model from about 3 or so years ago. The a/d/s/ PowerPlate Amps are really good quality. I'd say get it fast.

As far as the signal processor is concerned, you're going to want to find one with 6 outputs. Inputs can be either 2 or 4 channels.

I'd stick with either audiocontrol, phoenix gold, or a/d/s/ for the active crossover. They'll give you the best quality (24db/oct crossover slopes).

If you have the means to today, get this:

It's all the RCAs you'll need to go from the crossover to the amplifier. They're 6 feet each, which might be a bit long (better than too short), and they're REALLY cheap right now. They're really nice Phoenix Gold cables.
