I'm looking for some help, please.
I have a model CM5908 in my 92 325i cabrio (E30). The unit fires up, all lights working, memory working, antenna motor working (waiting on a replacement mast to replace a broken one but can hear the motor working), balance/fader working etc.
Here's the problem: the unit will turn on, start playing music fine and then abruptly stops (although the unit still lit up, just the sound stops). It will start playing again if I turn it off and on again. Sometimes plays for a few mins, sometimes a few seconds.
Has anyone confronted (and overcome) this problem? I just installed this headunit but the one it replaces was doing exactly the same thing.
I very much want to keep this car stock thus ignoring the reality that an aftermarket headunit would be smarter...
