    What stops the sunroof?

My electric sunroof works fine, but it doesn't stop in between functions like I know it's supposed to. For example, it will slide closed then immediately pop up the rear of the sunroof panel. Is there some sort of relay that stops the sunroof between functions? Whats the order of operations to diagnose?

There is a cam, microswitch and a relay. My guess is your microswitch when kaput. My advice would be to replace the entire motor/relay/switch assembly - as you can pick up the entire unit for cheap - and it will make the fix much easier.

EDIT: Oh, when your pull the old unit, you might want to match up the cams in the new unit. I've never done that before, but there should be a sunroof repair thread about that stuff.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into how involved the removal and replacement is.
