Hey gang,
The other day I was cruising along on the freeway, and I noticed power abruptly cut off, killing the motor and forcing me to coast to the shoulder.
The car is S52 swapped, and is an 87 325iS. I immediately get out, pop the hood, and notice the power wire at the junction box in the engine bay is loose, which could have potentially grounded out on the junction box.
So I get the car towed home, and realize the car has NO POWER WHATSOEVER. No accessory power, no interior lights or flashers work. Nada, as if the battery was out of the car.
A few members have mentioned that the K5 and K7 unloader relays could have potentially taken a shit. I've also heard that the ignition switch could potentially be bad. I have spares of each, and have replaced all with good working units to no avail!!?! :(
Please help! This is a first for me, and I'm completely stumped
At the moment, I am getting the battery charged. The tech said the battery will still hold a charge, but it was at 40%. Maybe it's as simple as a shot battery?
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
EDIT
So the other day, i replaced the fusible link and the car fired up....BUT my issue keeps occurring?! What would keep tripping the 50a fuse in the trunk? I've checked grounds and such (aside from the starter since its hidden under the intake mani....
Any ideas guys??
