Originally posted by NitroRustlerDriverKappa Perfects are 4ohm, FYI. If you want some cheap speakers, check out eBay for some Infinity Reference speakers. Just got a set for our replica car and even at 60 with the top down, at 3/4 volume you could hear the radio fine with no distortion. And they only cost me $75!
I have no 5.25" seperates in stock, but am picking up some Exile (for those with a bit of money) and some Maxxonics (MB Quart, Autotek, Hifonics, crunch) for those without.
I am also a Massive and Memphis audio dealer.

If you wanna throw some real money at serious performance, check out ARC Audio. Designed by Bob Zeff, built in the good ol' USA. 4X35? About $600
Originally posted by BDSaxif i went with an amp then im guessing i would need to re-run all of the speaker wire to the amp? thanks!
As far as power goes, wattage is a lie. You cannot tell the quality of an amp by its power rating. Most amps today really are about the same. I am not referring to swap meet crap, I mean normal name brands. Let me explain about wattage for a second...
Twice the power of 1 watt is NOT 2.
Twice the power of 1 watt is 10.
Twice the power of 10 is 100, twice the power of 100 is 1,000.
Basically, you cannot hear the difference between 200 and 300 watts.
Your deck makes a real, usable 12 watts per channel (12X4=48) with very little speaker control below 100Hz. Most any decent name brand amp will make about 25 watts per channel (25X4=100) but with far greater speaker control below 50hz than the deck will. Another advantage is that you can remove (high pass) the un-usable bass below a certain point, thus greatly clearing up the remaining bass (plus WAY clearer midrange and treble) PLUS you can adjust the level of the front and rear speakers, balancing the sound the way you like it.
GL!

If you go Kappa (not the Perfects, the "cheap" Kappas) your wattage will basically double, anyway.
You need to be way more concerned with features, rather than power (as I explained in my post). Variable crossovers matter most. If you want better sound quality, pay more attention to S/N ratio. The higher the better. 100 is the goal for an excellent amplifier.
