Head unit install w\ amp bypass help, please

So I have read and read and read and maybe I am brain dead but I can't find the same example as me in the sticky thread so I am reaching out for some additional help.
The patient is '87 e30 vert. Production 7\1987
Car has\had a blaupunkt benzibox and it sounded horrible. I have the fader and door tweeters. I think that means I have premium audio

I have totally removed the blaupunkt and found the original plug is already gone. So the harness has already been hacked in to.

I am attempting to install a Kenwood KMM-BT315U. And from what I read, I would like to bypass the amp to use the radio power instead. I have also purchased a set of Polks for the front and some JVC's for the rears. Will return them if I am advised it is a bad idea to change since I have been hearing good things from the stock premium speakers.

So in to the good stuff
I have pulled back the insulation as far back as I could in to the din area and find NO twisted pairs.
I have disconnected the fader wires and this is what I find:
    Yellow\red, yellow\black, blue\black, blue\red
I also have yellow and blue that looped from the fader harness and then back out a separate bundle wires. Also in that bundle is red\gray and brown\black which both have multiples connected to the one. (I think that makes sense)
Then comes the red\green, violet\gray and the 2 whites. The whites are joint in the middle by just sort of connector.

On my Kenwood harness that came with the radio, I have:
    Black
    red
    yellow
    brown (labeled mute)
    blue\white (labeled ant.cont\ p.cont)
blue\yellow (labeled remote cont\ steering wheel remote input)
The the speaker pairs, purple, green, white and gray

    So....
Right off the bat it looks like I do not have the negatives to any of the speakers and I am not sure what to do about it.

    Then...
    Kenwood harness----- car harness
    Black----- brown\black
    Red------ violet\gray
    Yellow------ red\green
    Blue\white (ant)------ white
    Brown (mute)------ nothing????
Blue\yellow (steering or remote cont)------ the other white????

I have no (ILL) Orange wire on my Kenwood harness.

So I think I have a few questions
    1. What do I do with the speaker wires?
    2. Am I matching the wires correctly? What about Orange?
    3. Should I replace the speakers?

    Thanks for any help!!!

    OK, here we go.

First, sorry no one else has answered your question, I'm not the only one who knows this stuff anymore, but since it is in the guide (which I really need to re-write) I guess they figure you will find out.

So, you have a total of 6 signal wires going from the deck to the amp (not counting remote) because you have an early car.

What you need to do here is go to the amp and cut off 4 of those wires that run front to back and connect them to the rear speaker wires (we call it "re-purposing") and then, run new wires to your front speakers.

This will give you a total of 8 wires for the 4 speakers.

If you decide to add an aftermarket amp, there is no need to re-wire any of the speakers, as the OE wiring in the trunk is compatible.

Best of luck, hope that helps!

    Luke

      Thanks for your response.
Do I have the rest of my wiring correct? I am concerned with the missing orange.
If I want to just get an amp now, do I just connect the positives? Would it use the stock amp for the time being?
I want to do it right the first time and not opposed to the amp at all.
      Any recommendations for amps?

That stereo doesn't have a "dimmer" function. Just tape up the wire car-side. The rest of your wiring looks ok. Just tape up the brown and the blue/yellow, they are for options you don't have.

If you got an aftermarket amp right now, you would run RCA cables from the stereo to the amp and not use the speaker wires. Then you would connect the amp to the speaker wires at the factory amp in the trunk.

I actually called them once, spoke with the "lead tech"...dude has never installed any system aside from his own car...not exactly a "professional"

Ok, got everything connected. Radio powers up , antenna works, I connected the positives of all the speaker wires and I get sound from all but the passenger front. Must be the speaker itself.

I am just not sure of the second white wire. Is that supposed to be connected blue\yellow that I mention above? Does that power the stock amp?

The white wire in the harness is remote turn on for the OE amp, the loose one is antenna

Ok. Just connected it to the remote wire on the deck harness. Sounds a little better but not sure if its in my head. Lol

And now my right front speaker is working. Not sure if it will be intermittent. Time will tell.

Do you think the polks will give me better sound or should in return them and use the money for a proper amp and sub?

Is it weird that my two white wires are connected with this connector?

Got it. Guess I am all set for now. Thanks to everyone that replied. There is so much info on these forums. If I hadn't stumbled across this I would have had some clown butcher the wiring and would have not been happy with the sound. I made all the wires even length and tidied up in there. I ordered a blank that i plan to mount the Mic for the phone feature in to.
