    2003 BMW 325 question

    I know you guys have some experience with this
    I want to put a stereo in my Kids 325i Sport Wagon
    i have replaced hundreds of stereos over the course of being a gear head.
    But BMW being BMW i want to know if the factory unit is tied into a alarm system of some sort.
    it is actually a basic cassette player am/fm unit
    any one with knowledge on this.
    I would check but hes in Seattle and i am in Spokane.

      It is not tied into any type of alarm system. A wiring harness adapter and an installation kit are all you need to install an aftermarket head unit in an E46.

          Are you putting an aftermarket unit or are you just replacing the basic cassette player am/fm unit with a Front loading CD player am/fm unit from the same range?

                  Make sure you don't get the wrong antenna adapter, you need the passive one, not the one with the power wire
