Turn Signal Relay went bad after driving in the rain.

So i got this car and i've been working through it to get it to pass inspection, and i replaced the turn signal relay because the turn signals weren't flashing. So that was a few weeks ago, fast forward to today and i'm driving for the first time in the rain since i've owned the car. The turn signals stop working again. This time the lights don't even come on, where as before they came on just didn't flash. Does anyone have any guesses on whats going on. I also noticed that there seems to be a fair amount of water dripping inside in random places. I will work on all the weather stripping next, but i'm worried about having a consistent electrical issue.

Pull your front turn signal covers and check the bulb sockets. Some E30's experience corrosion in there, next i'd check the fuses. I've read about the emergency light switch being a culprit as well but don't know where that falls in the whole scheme of things. Google it, plenty of info from this and other forums are available.

Awesome! Thank you. I'm going to dig into it tomorrow. I was worried because after the rain stopped i went outside and there was water on top of the battery tray in the truck. So i guess i need to figure out how that's getting in. It wasn't a lot, but i think any moisture coming in that area is not a good thing.

The "turn signal relay" is in the steering column just FYI. The hazard switch (as cayonC pointed out) is important - loose it and you loose signals.

Water on top of the battery in the trunk lets me think you have some leaky trunk seals. Did you do what I did when I was a noob, and install an e28 mtech spoiler on the trunk, and not patch up the "iS" trunk lid holes? Ha! Guilty!
