Any suggestions on how to test the dimmer switch?

Any pinouts? So far I can tell that the connection between 1 and 7 establishes continuity when you pull the switch out to the first position.

Any idea which pin outputs to the dash/accessories?

Not off the top of my head. Gogole for "BMW E30 ETK" - that the manual that has all the pin outs (at the end) and all the wiring diagrams.
