Static normal from speakers with factory radio?

Recently installed a CM5908 and I'm getting a ton of static from what sounds like ps tweeter and maybe speaker and also maybe some from the rear speakers. I don't know what it's suppose to sound like since my car came with a aftermarket radio. Input is welcomed

Pulled the volume knob off and spray some electric cleaner inside the knob area. I did this and no more static.

He didn't say if it was static all the time, or just with the knob, but Mr. Vang is on to it. The pot might just be old and dried out.
