removing battery causes check engine light

    oy

my first post, bought my 91 318is 2 months ago...love it

after rust proofing the battery compartment today, i reconnected the battery and the car started, idled for a short bit and then died. It won't die if you hold the revs up but it runs rough...

It was running PERFECT earlier today before i removed the battery

    any ideas??

    cheers

just run it for awhile (keep it running with some revs if you have to, but let it idle as soon as it can, then take it out for a drive).

      whoops...

while i was waiting for paint to dry in the battery compartment i checked the air filter and pulled a vacuum hose loose in doing so. i was barking up the wrong tree.

      back to normal

      thanks anyways
