best car alarm on the market?

I am looking for a car alarm and would like to know what you guys think is the best on the market. Now being best does not always mean the most money. Im looking for something that cant be grounded out, has a paging system, and is loud as hell. Features as locking door, starter kill, windows up option, etc.. I would love to hear your input!

IMHO, the Audiovox 996 with the sattelite package is awesome. Remote start, 2 way paging, lots of goodies. Plus, the fact that you can call your car (talk about PIMP, yO) and start it or unlock the doors using a $75 module just kicks ass.

I mostly use Scytek. They are cheap, reliable, and most important, they are actually a manufacturer. I am also a dealer for Audiovox, but I hardly use them anymore. Scytek fills my needs perfectly. I have an Astra 6000 in my car. I use the "Horn Honk" option...so the horn honks as the alarm goes off. Talk about LOUD and ANNOYING!

There are only about 5 manufacturers in the world, basically. DEI makes everything...but I hate their corporate policies, so I will not likely ever be a DEI dealer. Most anything aside from "Bulldog" or "Design Tech" is pretty good, IMHO. You will find that the quality of installation is far more important than the brand name on the box.

I agree and good morning! If you were going to go with one which one would you pick and what is cost on something like this? I am working on the audio setup we talked about in the past and I am waiting to pick up new carpet for the car. I would like to try to do everything when I have everything out. That way I can hide anything that needs to be hidden. Thank you for your input!

New carpet...AACK! Gonna pull the heater box? I am hoping to pull my dash and heater box to fix several issues, and new carpet then.

Personally, I hate 2 way alarms. There is a big delay in communication between the transmitter and the car...it frustrates me no end.

On my Astra 4000, I can remote start and if I dumb out and leave it in gear, I can shut it off IMMEDIATELY if in gear.

I sell those (teh R3V deal) for about $80 shipped, btw.

Yeah, dealer wants $500 for new carpet. Thats going to bite me in the ass for sure! Let me do some reading and Ill get back to you. Its still some time out. Im in the middle of a suspension upgrade and still waiting on shipping from GC.
