    Fog light wiring issue.

PO ended up cutting the fog lights off near the fender, so I got a donor harness for the connectors for the fog lights. After splicing up all the wires, the passenger side was inop. I switched the lights around and the passenger side still wouldn't come on. I did a continuity test and had a connection from the fuse to the connector, but I also had continuity from the connector to the ground. I figured the wire was damaged, and tracing the original wire back I found a nick in the wire. I wrapped it up, respliced everything, and still had continuity to the ground. I pulled out the driver side connector and also had continuity to the ground.

Is this normal? I was under the impression that the power should be isolated and not ringing to the ground.

There should be two wires, One to power and one to ground. The light connects between them to complete the circuit.

Right, but what I'm saying is should the power wire be ringing to the ground as well?

You are correct. The power should not ring the ground. Not sure what the issue is, but ground should only be seen on one of the two wires.

My guess is that it's still shorting somewhere along the run of the power wire.
