    Changing from CM9505 to C43

I am planning on changing my OEM deck (CM9505) to a C43.

Should I expect to hear better sound?

Front speakers are Infinity Kappas components and rear speakers will be premium soon.
I have the dash slider and pretty sure no amp in trunk.

Does the C43 produce better sound than the CM9505?
And how does an IPOD integrates with the C43?
( I am still reading up on this.. so be gentle with the 'search' comments :) )

Is the CM9505 the same as the C33?
If this is the am/fm/weather-band cassette deck, it's commonly referred to as the C33. I think the C33's various markings do include "CM9505" or similar, but I misplaced my old C33, so that's how much my memory is worth. ;) Anyways, I'll pretend you're replacing a C33.

Going from C33 to CD43, my sound improved a lot. I also upgraded speakers to modern JBL (low 3-ohm resistance, 15% bigger cone area) and supplemented with a pair of Kenwood powered bass boxes under the front seats. But the head unit itself has a much wider frequency response (especially in FM radio) and better dynamic range.

While the CD43 has a better onboard amp than the C43, which is better than the C33, none of them are much better than barely passable. I supplemented with the Kenwoods so I could under-drive the bass to the mains; since bass is where 90% of an amp's power goes, this enables me to drive all the speakers louder without overly taxing the head unit.

Harness connection was straightforward but I took a lot of time studying diagrams, going over the wires, etc so that when the unit arrived I could get it in and test it. These are all 25yo units, ebay seller said he'd do a return but the window for that is short and you want to get back to him within a few days or a week or so. I patched everything together with wire nuts to test, then after verifying it all, re-did with spade connectors soldered leads, etc. I also lightly reamed all the harness pin holes and lubed each with dielectric grease - last thing I want is to bust the "new" HU unplugging the "new" harness plug, next time I dig into the dash.

I still want cassette to retain that period feature on an 88 SETA.

The C43 is is what I am going for which i believe has to sound better than the Cm9505 :)
