I have an alpine deck in my car with the plastic suround piece. What i cant figure out is how to pop off the plastic suround. Ive tried to get it out but im too scared of breaking it. Please help, thanks

On my JVC deck you just pull the surround and it will pop off, not sure if the ALpines work the same way.

All of the decks that I've ever had, the trim piece just pops off. There might be a little clip to pry thats keeping it on. Can you see anything like that?

i think there are 2 on top and 2 on the bottom but pinching it and moving them around still wont unclip them

try getting thin metal rulers and use those to pry the clips off, cutting thin strips of sheet metal works well too.

with some of the alpines, not sure if they're all this way, you don't need to remove the trim piece at al. remove the faceplate and look on the inside edge of the trim piece... you should see a little springloaded clip type thing, take a pen and move the clip on either side upward and it should unlock your head unit.
