I have been having difficulty with the 5908 that is in my '90 convertible.
For a while, the volume knobs was unresponsive, and would only pass volume on a couple positions, mostly at full volume. I always figured it was a bad pot and I dealt with it. I did spray some deoxit on it but that didn't help. So I delat with it by sending signals through my phone and using the volume control on my phone.
However, recently, it doesn't work at all and now just sends a loud squealing sound. It sometimes works for a couple minutes but then starts to squeal again. Could this be the amplifier, or is the stereo toast? Anyone encounter the same issues? Thanks.
