Window Switch doesnt work in door - does in console

    Hello

    I have an 87 eta 4 door.

The switch in the door for the rear drivers window does not work. The switch in the console for the same window does work.

I've swapped the switches, and I still have the same problem, whatever switch in the console works, whatever switch in the door does not.

I'm looking through the ETM now, but I'm just not good at understanding those diagrams and have a very limited working knowledge of my DMM.

Any ideas on what I can try next? I've tried 3-4 switches with no luck. I assume its the wiring in the door for when the buttons are pressed but I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.

    Any advice appreciated.

Update: it looks like repeatedly mashing the small square rear window lock button brought the switch in the door to life.

Can I just delete this lock button altogether and connect two of the wires under the switch? Anyone done this?

delete away! or you can gently open the switch and clean it. either way works

If someone used a lot of armorall on the switches, it will screw them up. They are easy to open up and clean, just watch of the spring that will try to shoot out and hit you in the eyeball. (ask me how I know)
