Will 6.5in speakers fit in the rear deck of an 87 E-30?

I don't mind cutting to fit, this is just a daily driver and I'm not going for the factory look or anything.

i used spacers to fit mine in, no need to cut the tray.

Where did you find the spacers at? Model specific?

I'd just dremel it out if they dont fit.

Yes and no. It all depends on the speaker. I had a set of infinitys that fit depthwise so I just cut a larger hole in the tray. However my Polk momos wouldnt fit so I made a ring out of MDF and then cut the outside edge at 45 degrees sloping from the tray to the speaker. Then laid black carpet over the whole thing.

6-1/2" pvc drain pipe. Cut a slice less than 1" thick off, paint it black and just sit the speaker on top of that. proper r3v job.
