keyless entry wugga-wugga

I have a ebay keyless entry system on my (now ex) e30. From the moment I put it in, it's made this occasional "wugga wugga" noise when unlocking. It's more like a burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr (hard to explain).


I believe this is an artifact of the pulse length and/or the particular keyless entry. Using the key, this never happens.
Has anyone seen anything similar?
