Dealer installed radar

Does anyone have a dealer installed radar detector in their car?
Mine has one in the ashtray with the remote sensor behind the grille.
Just curious how popular these were back then.

My bro's had one in his car but we took it out. I was told by our mechanic that BMW didn't put radar detectors in our cars but this one sounds just like what you are describing...didn't work for shit either

It's just double stick taped in the ash tray and the sensor is zip tied to to the radiator support behind the grille.

Yeah I wouldnt put much faith in it.
Security systems are the only thing that has set it off so far.
It says BW200 on it and came with some liturature.
