iirc either clifford or viper systems with remote start have them.. you can get these for $250-300 nowadays,, i think that $510 price included installation?

OK, get this: Remote start adds about 5 wires to an install, total.

Not hard tro get to, no magic involved. I do a dozen or so every month, sometimes 3 or 4 a day. We all know that keyless is 2 wires on the car, right?

Window roll up/down is 4 wires on the car, plus power and trigger to the alarm. Easy power acccess, right? That grommet in the firewall in fromt of the DME.

Clifford/Viper are both DEI. Decent stuff, but overpriced IMHO. Plus, DEI is trying to take over the world, so fuggem.

Audiovox/Codealarm are pretty damn nice too, but I dropped them in favor of Scytek. Incredibly cheap, excellent reliability. They actually manufacture their product, unlike the other guys.

I sell a basic remote start/keyless alarm for $85. I sell a window module that rolls up and down 2 windows for $50. You can also use it to roll up 4 windows by using different wiring.

so YOU have a system that you sell for $135 that when i push a button, it will disarm the alarm, unlock the doors, and roll the windows down? :) that sounds perfect!!!
i have never really cared for the remote start because what is the point? dont you have to put the key in the ignition before you go anyways? also, if you have a stick dont you always have to leave it in neutral?
tell me more about this alarm you have, when i lock the car will the windows roll up? i have 2 windows.
          thanks

              Luke,
How does Clifford compare with the brands you mentioned above? I had a Clifford alarm in my old truck, and I really liked it. It was much better than the crappy Autopage alarm that I had put into my e30 a while ago.

I would like to get a new alarm to replace my current one, so I'm trying to find the best deal. I don't want another crappy system though, like my current one.

OK, first, go check out www.scytek.net.

The alarm I use in my car is the Astra 4000RS, with 2 one way transmitters.
Awesome range, so far not a single failure in over 30 installs on just that product. I forget the model number of the window module, but there is only one.

Superheterodyne reciever gives it great range. Basic feature package...except for the most awesome "Horn Honk" which can honk your horn if the alarm goes off...truly obnoxious.

You can wire the windows several ways. Basically, there is a trigger wire which will roll the windows up, andother for down. If you use the "armed output" wire, when you trigger the "down" input, it will vent the windows about 2".

Erik, Clifford has been bought by DEI. About 2001, IIRC. Now virtually the same as Viper...good stuff, but IMHO, overpriced. I sell Scytek for about what Clifford costs the dealer.

As far as the remote start goes, let me tell you this:

                1. It will get you laid.
                2. Chicks dig it (see this)
