How hard is it to get a screen installed in that lower location? I actually really like it there.

Its really easy if you buy mine, all you do is slide it in, top first, then push down on the bottom and it snaps into place.

Let me know if any of you are interested

mine was a custom box. took about 4 hours over a couple days. Pretty easy. Mine actually just screws to the console in the same location as the ashtray.

On mine? It doesn't get in the way at all to me. Probably also has to do with your seat position. But not at all to me.

That IS a clean setup, and I would like to know what kind of money it would be to get a setup similar to that. (Ballpark figure, retail)
The 13 button is pointless with an s50 in the bay. I like all my shit to work and be accurate. 6 button works perfect.

Retail, just for the mounting and labor, probly $300+. Screen is extra, hehe. I used a touchscreen.

A car with a carputer, and no hvac anything.
Thats like low profile tires, on the left side of your car only.

Dont get me wrong, I like the idea, but not at the cost of what you lost.

well you have to understand i really only drive the car to and from work its a 15min trip and when i want to have fun. plus like i said before i live in fl. when its hot i lower my windows when its cold i put a sweater on. last year was extremly hot here and i did not turn my a/c on for the whole time, you can say all you like about loosing hvac but most of you guys are living in colder states i live in a state that the coldest it gets it 35f in the winter at night and by the noon its 65-70f. now when i lived in boston mass it was a big difference i would not do the same.

oh and if i really want to i can fab up the controls somewhere else. not that big of a deal. well till i remove the a/c componts and the heater box.
                              to each there own.
