If you look through the description for the Panasonic.

Spice up your drive with our CD receiver's 3D action graphics that look especially cool on the illuminated blue display. There are three motion patterns, including the Panasonic F1 racecar and Snow Board, and 10 still images to choose from. You can also customize the background (motion/still image), opening, and ending screens using your own images stored on a CD-R/RW disc. There are a wide variety of these images available on our special download website. All you have to do is download the images you like, burn them onto a CR-R/RW disc, and load the disc into the CD receiver. You'll be able to replace the pre-installed images with the new images on your disc. Using the customizing software, Image Studio*, from the special download website, you can edit and process your own digital images (video and stills) to use as 3D Dot matrix background screens.
So you can put whatever you want on there.

do you think it will look ok? I want something pretty stock looking. No race cars or anything on the display.

Do that Panasonic that Chris suggested. Terrific performance, I promise you will like the features. Color looks spot on.

I agree Luke. They are never on the cutting edge (which keeps me from buying one I guess), but everything that does end up on the decks is extremely well done.

This is what I like about the CQ-C7413U:
Button Illumination Color Variable, up to 9261 color variations
Variable Color Display Yes, with up to 9261 color variations

    Just give me USB!

Boy, that CQ-C7413 Chris is talking about looks pretty cool. 3 high-volt preouts, MP3/WMA (fuck MP3, give me lossless WMA or fuckoff!) Bluetooth, Sirius, iPod (like I care) AND orange lighting? High pass and low pass filters onboard, Wewt!

Panasonic is absolutely my favorite decks these days. Cheap and excellent.

Now all we need is some kind of adapter to plug the thing into a portable HDD housing, USB or a "CD changer-based HDD housing" like that failure of a "music keg" that Kenwood had would be sweet.

But not at $300 for 20GB. Fuck that. Give me 40GB for $50, or die.

In the meantime, using the RCA's on the back of your deck could work just fine for audio, but only if you figure out how to make the thing go into changer mode.

Why do you think that iPod adapter is incompatible? Seems that Panasonic hasn't changed changer protocol in years, so that unit should work on most Panasonic decks.

What model Panasonic HU do you have, Royal?

Have a look at this one.

Many of the Panasonic units have customizable button/display colors.

I'd have one (due to my discount), but one isn't made with USB input. They make very nice quality built units.

If I had to buy a new headunit, what would you guys recommend. I was thinking about this one because of the amber display. What do you guts think of Blaupunkts?

started a topic Ipod through Cd changer

    Ipod through Cd changer

I got my panasonic head unit a long time, but now I want to hook my ipod up to it. My problem is that my model doesn't have an aux input, however, it does have rcas for a cd changer in. Is there any way that I could hook my ipod through that input. I don't want to get an fm modulator, i want cd quality sound. Any Suggestions?
