    You guys need to visit caradio.com. Thats where Ive learned all my car audio. For the deadeners, dont use any asphalt based ones because they will smell really bad and may not stick in all applications. What you want is Butyl based deadeners. More effective and no smell. But if your going to get cheaper speakers, i wouldnt even waste the money on deadener.

    IF you get anytype of deadening go for raammat(have 200 ft^2 in my civic)

    Since you guys own german cars why not own german speakers? the company called Rainbow makes high end speakers for audiophiles. Make a search for rainbow on caraudio.com. There is a dealer their "6speedcoupe" and i believe that he can hook you up with some Soundline SLCs' for the lower 200 or upper 100 dollar range. Of course you will need an amp for getting anywhere near potential for these speakers.
