ipod dock cable

Does your ipod get charged anytime its hooked up to a ipod dock cable? whether or not the other end is a USB (normal computer hook-up), or RCA, or male headphone jack end? I hope that made sense.

All of the major brand name iPod cables charge, ie., Kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine, etc.

I know the ones I get from AAMP of america charge too.

Are any of the ones you're speaking of RCA to ipod dock cables? and do they charge? Basically, what i'm trying to do is hook up my clarion headunit to my ipod with a dock cable so the ipod can charge and actually sound decent instead of through the headphone jack. Any suggestions? Clarion doesn't sell a ipod connector for my version headunit so i'm basically stuck unless i get RCA to ipod dock cable but I'd be hesistant to get the cable if it doesn't charge my ipod.

i'm not sure but i think the PXOD cables would work. like you said their website could be better. it says that it would charge the ipod also which is so far the only one i could find that does that through the dock.

I bought this cable that plugs into ur head unit's AUX RCA, and it also has a line that you can run to the battery or to any 12V line (comes with in-line fuse).

It plugs into the ipod's dock.

Also, it comes with a headphone jack in too, so if your friend with a non-ipod MP3 player is riding passenger, and he wants to play you some tunes, he can do that too.

Can't seem to remember where I got it from though...

EDIT: The PXOD is basically what I have but I don't have that yellow 5v line...
