    gauge clusters tacho not working

All the other parts of the cluster are working

I have swapped numberous clusters and I just finished replacing the tacho within the cluster it self from another one,

I also fixed a bad ground wire on the back in the white plug ,

So far nothing is happening, everything else works 100% as it should ,

I checked with a ohm meter if the tacho signal was indeed there in the black wire on the blue plug and I do get a on and off grounding signal wich is what it should be,

    So any help is appreciated

      Hi Gunni,

I'm not sure you are looking at the correct signal. The tacho signal is a variable frequency square wave, not a ground switched signal. The speedo is ground switched, are you sure you are not measuring that ?

        Well it´s like this,

The cluster gives out a 12v signal on the tacho wire, it´s the ecu that grounds it trough a resistor , thus creating the square wave,

Nevermind, I´m running a standalone on my M42 and the square wave needed a 12v pickup trough a resistor,
          It´s all good now
