Flush mount Nakamichi?

I installed CD45 in my brother's m3, but can't get it to sit flush. Is is even possible? The faceplate and the decorative frame stick out a bit.

Are you attempting to make the trim ring ("decorative frame") sit totally flush with the dash? That would look hot, wouldn't it?

You will find it easiest to completely file the mounting ledge inside the dash bezel off, then glue the "Sleeve" in place to mount the deck. Personally, I would remove the bezel to do this. JB weld should hold the sleeve just fine.

Yeah, I was in a hurry to install it for a long trip, once the car gets back (spring time figure) I will get on it.

I am trying to make the faceplate and the ring sit absolutely flush with the rest of the panel.
