    only some heat?

when i turn the heater on in my car, nothing happens unless i put the heater on level 4. thinking it was the switch, i changed it with a working one. but still no good until level 4. my buddies car did the same for a week or so and then started working again. any possible solutions would be great.

    thanks

Blower motor resistor. Its behind a panel on the engine side of the firewall. There are 4 8mm bolts that hold the big black panel in the center of the firewall on. One at each corner or the panel Also 2 10mm nuts holding on the wire harness holder thing right above the valve cover. Remove the black cover. The blower motor will be under a round black plastic piece that you do NOT need to remove. The resistor should sit right in front of that sitting kind of perpendicular to the ground. Its a flat metal piece with 3 spring looking things on it. It just pulls out so get a pair of pliers and grab hold of it and pull. It will slide out. Slide the new one in and check if the blower motor works in all positions of the switch. Then put stuff back together. If you have any more questions just ask.
