A few days ago, I noticed that the e30 would not lock when the alarm remote was pressed. The car would arm and the "push pin" in the door would shoot down, but it would not go down all the way. I had to manually lock the car.
The person who installed the alarm on my car wired the alarm so the car would lock when the ignition was turned on. This is something I absolutely hate, but have not had time to fix. Anyway, today I noticed that the car would still successfully lock (the push pin would shoot down all the way) when the ignition was turned which triggered the automatic lock.
WTF? Why will the car successful lock when the ignition triggers the lock but fail to lock when the alarm triggers the lock. The signal to the door locker should be the same and should not matter if it comes as a result of the ignition being triggered or the arm function being triggered.
Any ideas?
I'd like to see if anyone has suggestions before I pull off the panel.
While we are on alarms, does anyone know how to program the Clifford alarm (the alarm with the fancy cell phone looking key fob) NOT to lock the doors when the ignition is turned? I absolutely hate this feature.
