car eating guage cluster fuses for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I have gone through 3 fuses for my cluster/blower motor in the past 2 days. I dont know too much about electronics or what could be the cause for this.

    Bad cluster ground?

    Thanks
    Jesse

does it not happen when you do something different to the blower motor (turn it on, increase/decrease the speed)? The motor is much more likely to cause it in my opinion.

Otherwise, might just need to pull the cluster and look for bare wires.

they just burn out randomly, it doesnt matter what is on. I am going to change the SI batteries to see if it make a difference.

that [b]shouldn't[/b[ make a difference (I can't say WON'T because of my lack of experience)

fuses blowing is usually a sign of something short circuiting. So go look for those bare wires, improper installations, etc.

If it is fuse 10, it is probably your reverse light switch wires shorting on the bodywork. Unplug the connector which goes through the gear lever to test this.

+ on the tranny reverse light switch.

the wire, if loose, will rub in the guibo and have its insulation rubbed off and cuase it to short out and blow the 10 fuse.

i changed the SI batteries and fuse 10 still blows. I wish i had checked this thread a month ago becuase my reverse lights have been flickering for awhile now and when i installed my ssk i wasnt sure how to put that wire back up to the cabin so i probably messed it up.
