    will this be too rear-biased?

    318ic...

currently have dual 10" fosgate subs in a sealed box in the trunk

    pioneer head unit

    I just got a pair of eclipse 2-ways 4.5"

should i put them in the front, or in the rear? Whatever speakers i have in there now are still good...

I'm just trying to get some mid back with the bass and wind drowning everything out

Some will probably suggest getting another pair for the front... maybe some time in the future...

but for now... i want to know... change out the fronts... or the rears?

I'm sure StereoInstaller will chime in/correct me if need be, but I think rears are not nearly as important as fronts when it comes to car audio. By all means concentrate on having front midbass if at all possible, before you consider even activating the rears.

in a coupe... clearly yes i see ur point

but in the convertible... the rear speakers practically point towards the front...

i was just thinking perhaps it would bounce off the front as well

However I'm... by no means a pro... so i could just be talking monkey right now haha

The fronts are sooo weak being pointed at my feet =(

It doesn't matter where they point, throw it in the front

I would just put them in the rear and get some nice speakers for the front.

You wont get any mid bass out of those, especially with your sub setup. Read some reviews on lots of different speakers.

a good place to start is www.carstereos.org

I really want to say that at a bare minimum you should have some 6.5" woofers if you want any decent midbass at all.

those 4.5" inch will still be drown out. Sure, they'll be more accurate while doing so, but not really worth being in the front stage imo.
