the 10's are great they have awesome bass, they hit crazy for 10's too....so i assume the 12's are even better, there very well made to, my friend has had his for a few years, never had a problem. id compare them to JL's, another good brand is the Power Acoustik and they are cheap i made my x girlfriend buy a head unit off ebay $200 in dash dvd, pretty quality shit. check it out if your looking for a deck "POWER ACOUSTIK PTID-4004" thats the model name.-His-

MB quart was fairly recently bought by "Maxxonics" who will destroy any remaining loyalty anyone ever had to this once-fine name.
The only woof the have available still is the DWG 304. Power hungry and unable to play loud, this pile of shit has been around for years, dissapointing listeners everywhere.
350W max power handling with 90db/w/m sensitivity? Good luck.
Time for coffee.

A few other examples are listening environment (cabin space, shape, deadening), proper equipment settings, and most importantly, neon lighting. OK, not the last one.
Again, I'm not trying to claim yours or your friend's setups aren't good, I'm simply saying there is a whole lot of work to be done with ANY setup as far as tuning it, depending on how much you want to just trip on it and tweak away. It's simply too hard to make an objective claim like you're trying to make with all the variables that come into play.I retired my E30 for now...

Power being fed to them is one thing, but a large shortcoming with a lot of installs is the enclosure. I'm not saying what either of you have is necessarily "low quality", I'm just saying there are ways to figure out how to construct the box to play your personal music taste material at an optimum level. If either of you don't know what I mean if I use "Qtc" then I am certain either one or both of your enclosures are not being built to an engineer's (NOT manufacturer's) recommended specs. This is not to say a vast majority of the public doesn't follow the same example, but merely letting you know there are definitely ways to suck unbelievable amounts of performance out of some cheap shit.

i no longer have a set up because of the space you lose, weight, ect ect.......i understand i wasnt rockin anything crazy, it was just a Q logic box...i though 4 the money i didnt have a bad set up. but i enjoy not going along with the particular way people see you while driving by with mass bass emerging from your vehicle
ahahahaha!!!!
i do understand there are infinite possibility's, and i am explaining my opinion from and armature point of view.-His-
