tape deck code

I never thought i would have to ask a question about the stock tape deck but i have to now. When i bought my green car it came with CODE on the deck but i got the code from the guy i bought it from. How and when do i enter it? I dont understand the code i got though, there are f's and 9's in the code and i have no clue how i could enter that.

try skipping them, count any zeros as spaces and such

or he just gave you the serial number

just go to the bmw dealership and get the code from them. they'll do it for free.
