    Stereo for 1986 325es

First, I'm not a 22 year old first car driver.
I am not big into as loud, thumping, ear popping, nose bleed music....all the time, but sometimes, I love my NIN and old hair band rock on my sirius.

I'm installing a Kenwood KDC-MP225 which has Sirius ready, and I have the receiver, blah blah blah. I'm also likely installing an old MP3 player that synchs with a laptop at home through wireless(fosgate maybe?).

Anyways, the car is an old beater bimmer at its best. Over 200K miles. I've done a lot of work, just to make it a beater. Newer, better seats, major cleaning, some engine work, but not much....need to do brakes...anyways, i won't go down the list.

This car is for me to save some $$ on gas and have fun in.

I noticed the rear seat doesn't have a ski pass through, and I'm thinking the it's all metal between the trunk and the rest of the car. So....should I do one of the following: 1) No subwoofer tube 2) cut some metal out 3) remove the back seats and spend a ton of money (not)

    Thanks.

If you pull the trunk liner, you will see a perforated hole where the car would have a ski passthrough.

Whack it with a sledge and it will pop out enough to pull out.

    There is a start...

            Ah..I see.

I missed the part about you not being a 22 year old kid. I am likely older than you, I am 43. If you are older, it is all the same. Music is the goal here, and a good sounding system in your E30.

Let me explain my use for a subwoofer...the idea in my book is to take the strain off of the front and rear speakers, thus letting them play clearer and cleaner, plus live longer.

All of that assumes you have a high pass filter somewhere, either in your deck or in your amplifier running those inside speakers.

As far as Bazooka tubes go, yes, they make decent bass. Nothing amazing, but decent. The issue is that they do not seal into the cabin, thus the bass goes into the trunk, making rattles, booming the neighbors and generally wasting energy.

infinite makes a really nice 10' sub thast small, and has great sound, but not so big that shakes the world but loud enough to let people know yoru there, and sounds amazing with any kind of music, rap, classical, rock, techno, you name it, it rocks out well.

ps i wish i could spell.
