when the needle hits the red reserve part on the gauge, the need just falls. and the obc will say somethin between 22 miles left to 25 miles. then it jumps up to 32 m and then finally falls to 9 or 13 and sucks fumes :(. when i fill up the tank the needle will barely go above the 3/4 mark. is my fuel sensor loose or somethin. i dunno maybe someone can help me on this.

ive tightened the nut on the back of the gauge and checked all fuses nothings wrong with those. when i did the nut on the gauge it didnt to shit. cant find the fuel level sensor either...Comment

hhmmm, maybe it is something on the fuel tank end of the deal. maybe the sending unit is loose or broken or damaged.Comment

yeah, under the back seat. I think (maybe?) 88 has two senders. When you pull the back seat, look under the black panels for the senders/fuel pump.Comment

anyway to tell if the senders out? if its loose itll be obvious. i used to fill up the tank and smell gas inside the car, so i wonder what the deal is. hasnt done that in awhile though...Comment

Hey man, I replaced my fuel sending unit along with the in-tank fuel pump a while ago. I can help you install it if you get a new one. If you have the original sensor, you probably want to replace it anyway.
Getting a brand new unit only helped a little though. It's more accurate, but it still moves weirdly from time to time. I think the problem is with my cluster.
