Mine is skipping for some stupid unknown reasons. I was wondering what I can do to fix that issue. I'm assuming it's the laser and the only thing I can think of is to use compressed (can) air. Is there anything else that would work?
What do you do to clean head units?

im sure stereo installer will chime in soon but..... the cds with the brush's on them scratch the living out of the laser, those are the worst. compressed air isnt gonna do anything but blow all the dust around and it will settle somewhere else. best bet is to take it to you local authorized dealer and have them service it i.e. realign the laser and check everything else. your in washington so you should be able to go to car toys and have them send it out for you.Comment

Except for the "Car Toys" part, you got it. Find a local repair facility if you are under warranty, otherwise you will likely find it not worth fixing, like the stacks of decks piling up on my shelves.but..... the cds with the brush's on them scratch the living out of the laser, those are the worst. compressed air isnt gonna do anything but blow all the dust around and it will settle somewhere else. best bet is to take it to you local authorized dealer and have them service it i.e. realign the laser and check everything else. your in washington so you should be able to go to car toys and have them send it out for you.
Don't need to here, though, you guys nailed it.

Before you get a new one, open up the case, blow it out with compressed air and clean the laser with a q-tip dipped in alcohol. The worst that can happen is it won't help.Comment
