    What are my options?

Hey guys i've got mid range kenwood deck with a 10" alpine type e sub in the trunk. All my stuff isn't great it just gets the job done. I'm not much of a sound system guy so i'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

My question is what can I use that will be somewhat a cheap way to play mp3's in my car. I want something that won't skip because when I'm on bumpy concrete freeways my Kenwood seems to skip alot. I've heard things about a "Phatbox" or something. I would love to have a portable hard drive to load mp3's on but i don't know what is out on the market and how they all work. Please educate me, no hurry though I plan on something like this over summer.

iPod through the Aux input of your kenwood.
My mountains are better than yours.

The iPod (or something similar) would probably be your best bet. But at the price you'd pay for an iPod with a lot of storage, you'd probably be better off buying a different CD player and selling your Kenwood.

I like the Kenwood Music Keg or whatever it's called, but am not sure if it's compatible with my deck. I might end up getting a new deck and one of those, they sound like they would be perfect, but i've just gotta find a good deal on one.

You can find an iPod for a nice price on eBay..

Not only can you listen to all the tunes that you have on your computer, you can take the iPod anywhere. No skipping whatsoever. That's your best bang for the buck. I've owned two different iPods. 1st gen 5gb, and 3rd gen 10gb. Both of which I've sold (needed money), but I loved those suckers. So useful.
