http://www.nakamichi.com/flash.html says nothing about the CD-500 having Ipod capabilities, but rather, MP3 CD capabilities. An MP3 capable headunit doesnt always mean MP3 player ready, just that IT plays MP3's on a CD

I'm sure it has an aux in... but as far as being able to control your ipod from the deck, you're out of luck... Nak doesn't use a lot of frills... And thats okay, because iPods are for...TOOLS... IMHO.

If you just wanted to use an aux in, i'd say go for it... If you're wanting complete control, go for a Kenwood, as they have the best iPod interface available, and assuming you're listening to MP3 of AAC, you're probably not worried about all the things that makes that Nak deck so great.

Mine had an input, where you could just connect an RCA jack to the IPod. There is no IPod interface available though, and no storage in the headunit.

actually i believe Alpine has the best interface but i am very satisfied with my Pioneer Premier DEH-590IB. A little lag but not that bad and it works with my 3rd Gen, once they make Zune control adapters i will glady switch to zune but until then it's all iPod
