what do you guysa think of free air sub woofers? im looking for a small sub to put in my rear deck(partial cover) i dont want a sub taking up my trunk its a bmw there is not alot of room back there.

It depends on what you are trying to achieve from adding a subwoofer. If you want massive boom to be heard a long way away, then I'd suggest something different.
If you want something that can offer very good sound quality, but not as much 'boom' then free-air can be very good. Not 'free air' does not mean the sub doesn't need a box though. You need to spend some time isolating the boot space from the cabin space, ie filling speakers holes, filling all paths for the boot air to get into the cabin. This will also include the opening above the rear inner gaurds that have the plastic panels screwed into them, and making sure the skiport is sealed off airtight also.
Mounting 'free air'/infinite baffle will take a lot more work to do it effectively then putting a small sealed box in the boot area.My Garage :- www.cardomain.com/id/bmwturbo
