    My subwoofer install

It's a sub designed for free-air, so it works well acting as such. It actually surprised me (and my co-workers) as to how well it sounds. Very good clarity (as per the design) and good enough SPL. Can't even see it without bending down to look inside the trunk. I have a piece of vinyl being made to cover it up from the inside (to maintain a clean look).

Notice the clamp. All I have to do is release the clamp and pull out the sub/mdf assembly to be able to use my pass-through (use it for my snowboard).

Next is a thin-type 16cm in the door panels. Should be able to mount them straight up :).

          Thanks for the compliments guys.

It doesn't have THAT big of a magnet. It's just a 30 mm thick ceramic magnet.

It's just a pretty sub with the cast aluminum frame.

Also, aftermarket Panasonic subs are limited (they aren't anything out of the ordinary either). This is OEM stuff to be honest. It's still in development but will probably wind up in a boat.

Oh, someone at DHL stole two of these subs while shipping them, so if you guys ever see any more of these, let me know :).

Not sure.. I'm sure other manufactures make something that looks similar, but this sub is not out there at the moment.

Nice, dual voice coils too. Run some of that 10ga from the amp and send em to the other side of the sub. They don't put connectors on both sides of the sub in case you run out of wire...

                  Oh..
Well I built the speaker, so what I did was change the voice coil lead wires so that a coil speads from one terminal to the next (rather than the each coil on its own terminal). This means the 2 ohm/coil is put in series with a simple jumper wire on the other side. If you look closely, you'll see the jumper.

I built it to fit the car cleanly as I knew how I wanted it from the beginning. I also did much of the design work on the sub as a whole, so I know a little about it.

It sounds better (higher SPL with less distortion) than my 12" in a sealed 1 cubic foot ever did. Probably due to the resonance of the speaker staying low since a sealed box raises it quite a bit.

Is it not obvious that I'm a speaker engineer? In either case, as I said in the post just before yours, if you look closely at the other terminal you'll see a jumper wire. This is because I rotated the lead wires from the voice coil so that a coil starts and ends at different terminals which allows me to wire the 2x2ohm in series.

what amp are you running? that thing must take some power to push.
