What Gauge Speaker Wire?

Is there a "standard" gauge of wire used in car audio? Or is there a rule of thumb such as every hundred watt use what ever? I want to replace all hw riing in my car when I get new speakers and would like to know. I will only be running a HU and not and amp or sub. Just 2 tweeters, 2 six inchers and some 5x9's in the back.

i ran 12 or 14 gauge though out the car, works and sounds great....and cheaply available. no need to run massive wires for mids only...subs now thats a whole different ball park.
