    RadioCD restarts.Please help...

Goodday to all fellow bimmer fans! :D
Lately,I have a strange problem with my audio setup.
When the car is cold but running (engine on),
my radioCD cannot exceed a certain point of volume.
After playing loud (not extremely loud though) for a sec,
it restarts itself. The same happens again and again till
I turn the volume down a bit.
Also when idling in traffic and the volume level is somewhat
loud and I happen to decide to use the lighter, the CD unit stops
again and restarts itself till the lighter is hot and out...
In other words it fuckin busts my balls when this happens! :hitler:
It s like a power spike that makes the CD unit restart every time.
The weird thing is that when I m revving the engine it
almost never happens plus when the engine is warm it also happens less
    .
Could someone help me? It sometimes driving me nuts!
    N.

Might be an alternator issue. Does your battery seem to be charged when you start it up every time? I don't know if that would account for all the symptoms, but it's worth mentioning.

My battery seems ok,I guess, but does this have to anything with the restarts, since they tend to happen more at idle? I mean, when idling the battery doesnt even come to the equation of the problem, right? (assuming it doesnt get recharged ok by the alternator).
