    new speakers

I am searching for speakers to replace my factory ones. I want to stick with somthing that fits in the stock grills. I had a infinity system a while ago and really liked it, I have also heard some nice alpine systems. Anyone have some recommendations? I want something with good SQ.

I'll probably end up going with some Aplpine Type R's in the future, but that's the only thing I've really looked at. I consider the Alpine speakers pretty nice, they seem to have real good range - when I listened to them at an audio place. My friend, and absolute car audio fanatic also swears by the Alpine Type R's. I'm ot sure what other good companies there are? :?

Yeah, I know a few people that swear by alpine. I was thinking maybe the alpine type Xs, I can get them for less than type Rs go for. or maybe some infinity kappa perfects.

Type R's are ok. Type X's are supposed to be pretty nice from what I've heard. Look into other brands like CDT, Crystal Mobilesound, and MB Quart for some better speakers.

Yeah they're nice speakers. I think they are a little pricey, but don't quote me on that. My friend has some CDT CL-61 series components, and they sound amazing, especially with 90 watts rms pumping through them. Crystal Mobilesound has good components at a good price. Probably some of the best for the price (less than $200 for components) Many people here swear by MB Quart, but their titanium tweeters can be quite harsh. Silk tweeters own.

a/d/s/ makes very high quality stuff. Not even MB Quart can match their top-of-the-line stuff. That being said, they're a little on the pricey side.

If you want to PM me, I can help you find the right speaker to match your needs.

How much are you looking to spend?

What will you be powering the speakers with?

No joke. I'm a much bigger fan of the soft-dome tweeter.

finally people mention CDTs, they are cheap, affordable and like matt says, they sound sweet. A/D/S i have a pair of the 3 series, i think their OK, their old A/D/S rocks, the new ones sound alright, if you get a pair hopefully it's the old pairs. I recommend the CDTs classics like matt says if your on a budget and u want good SQ. Good luck

I am going to power them off a kenwood amp I have lying around, I don't know any of the specs on the amp. I plan on replacing the amp in the future though. I am looking to spend between $200-$270 for a pair.

$270 will get you a badass pair of speakers. Defintely get some components. What kind of deck do you have?

CDT makes some kickass speakers, as does Crystal Mobilesound.

If you have $270, why not try to piece together a 3-way system in the front and build some custom 3 way crossovers for them?

If you PM me I can help you set up a badass system.
