2 for 1 sale on Polk Audio speakers

I bought a set of 6.5 Polk Audio speakers from Crutchfield today, and they offered me a second set for half price.

I got two sets for $150 shipped. The last time I bought Polks, they were $79.95 per set, and that was ten years ago.

Deal, or no?

(Gotta dig out the left & right tin snips so I can mount them in the cabby kick panels. I have my Depeche Mode 'Violator' CD ready for a smoke test, too. What year is it????)

Maybe I'll break out some Joy Division or Nitzer Ebb instead.

I like the Polks. I have a pair of RTA-8 home speakers that I bought 15 years ago. They still sound great.

Their car speakers aren't as crisp as most that I've heard. I prefer the mellow highs that the Polks offer.
