Looking to do a complete overhaul on my sound system... HELP

Okay so I'm not impressed with my stock speakers so i want to do a complete replacement on my speakers and add a sub in as well. I know absolutly nothing about car audio. So i would appreciate any brand suggestions and decent set up, and how to hook it all together. Im thinking just 1 10" sub will be enough in the back but i don't know what else. Oh and I already have a brand new Kenwood HU.

and i still have a while to get it, my mom is most likely going to get it for me as a Xmas gift so i would like to keep it under or around $500CDN after its all said and done!

    Thanks,
    Dustin

I don't know the cost, but if you want a really good sub, look in to one 10" Memphis. At the local sound shop, they set off two car alarms in front of the store, knocked some stuff off the shelves and The whole car (fully dynamated XB)...and that was just the break in! That earned my respect. Oh, and the sound was very crisp, clean if you will.

I'll take a look into that, but by the sounds of it, it might be pushing the wallet too much
