Add-on Equalizer + Time Alignment module?

Looking for insight on something that would allow me to tune the sound of my stereo a bit more. Not looking to compete in SQ or anything, but I'd like to get a mic setup for the computer and work on getting a flat frequency response. I'd consider myself somewhat of an audiophile.

This is for the E34 I'm buying from my father in a week... its got a nice Nakamichi CD-40z head unit that I'd like to keep in there for its clean look and simplicity, I'd just like a bit more control over the sound. Running an 6-channel ADS amp powering -I think- 2 pairs of 5 1/4 ADS components and a 12" in a sealed box. The car is very well dynomatted.

    Any ideas?

    That'd do it.

For the advanced mode you have to place the mic in somewhere around 30 different places, then it auto tunes the system. The only eq it has is a 3 band parametric, but i think that is per speaker, so it'd probably work out pretty well. This way you could ditch the passive crossovers too.

If that doesn't work for you, you could always go the route of the rockford 360.2, or the alpine h701+c701 combo.

Hmm, seems most of these options are big bucks.

I might be better off getting a head unit with this stuff, possibly Alpine 7998 or Pioneer Premier DEH-P880PRS.

Thanks for the replies though, I found a pretty informative forum while searching for the Rockford. (audioforum.termpro.com)

Watch out for Premier. While that is a loaded unit, they have way too many problems with it. Search DIYMA if you want to know more.
