Here's my current radio situation, having no music ever really sucks!
I bought my '87 325es about 3 months ago with a really shitty aftermarket CD player in it (so cheap I had no idea even what kind it was). There was this really, really annoying buzz in the speakers when I turned the radio on (which I learned to be probably an alternator whine) and the fade/balance switch in the dash was all f-ed up in conjuction with the aftermarket head unit because some speakers didn't work as well as others and so on and so forth...
That aftermarket CD player was stolen about 2 months ago when I left my E30 unlocked one night. The crooks just left all the wires hanging out of the radio's absent spot, some they disconnected from little joint things in the wires and some they just tore right off. That was that.
My car is still in this exact same position with wires just there hanging out.
I just purchased a stock E30 radio, but it's one from a 1989 that has the infrared adjuster and pyramid switch, which isn't the one that actually came stock with my car...
WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE TO GETTING IT HOOKED UP CORRECTLY? I REALLY DON'T WANT THAT BUZZ IN THE SPEAKERS!
From here, I am a little stumped. If there are any experts out there with E30 radios and wiring, please share your knowledge for it will be much appreciated. Riding in silence really irritates the soul dammit. Sucks.
Thanks so much for everyone willing to help me out.

Other things to note on:
- Out of the radio cavitity is hanging a speaker wire, the kind with clearish insulation, just your typical speaker cable wire that probably didn't come installed in an E30 (I could be wrong). wtf?
- On the back of the '89 stock radio (infrared), there are 2 similar little plug things in it, but coming out of one of them is a yellow and a white wire...
- Was a new wiring harness put in for either the aftermarket head unit that was in there when I bought it or am I going to have to put one in? The wires that are hanging out for the most part all look old-ish and original (they are all colored, of course) but I don't know exactly how long the CDplayer was in there for.
- I have no antenna mast for my power antenna. I have no idea whether this is directly important for the entirity of it all, I know that the antenna just plugs in the back of the stock unit and I don't really care about getting the radio to work right now just the tape player side of things
- Won't I need the code for the '89 E30 stock radio I bought?? Do I need the information like the VIN of the car it was in or the previous owner to get the code, or can I just find it online, or what?
- I think the person who sold it to me, to take it out of their car, they just drilled through the mini hex nuts instead of using either an allen wrench or getting the BMW tool to remove those little anti-theft things. Will I be able to secure it in therewith this damage done?
