I'm planning on taking my oem headunit and all its wiring for my parts car and putting it into mine. Both the cars have the exact same premium sound and the same head units when new. I have yet to tear into my daily driver (besides today when i installed a different tweeter into the drivers side door) but i do know that the car was rewired for this after market headunit (which sucks btw). I plan on ordering the oem radio removal tool (to do it right) and just mixing and matching speaker parts from the parts car. Is there anything I need to know before I rip into my car? Has anyone else tried this (im sure they have). Did you run into any problems? Thanks in advance -Nate

Ack, I have been called out.
Dammit.
OK, Nate, let me get this straight...you have 2 1988 E30s adn basically, you want to use stock wiring from one car to the other to make a OE system, correct? Basically, I would simply add a few inches of wire here and there rather than yanking the entire harness out of the parts car AND pulling the harness out of the driver to make it correct.
I mean, if having a new-ish stock 1988 OE stereo is the goal, go for it, but shit, why?
Have you looked at the diagrams of you car? It might help.
Either way, good luck!
I will do what I can to help from here.
