I went to ARS today and got this set up today. Just a set of RCA on the right, and to the left a wiring kit for the amp that I will eventually get. Hopefully this is all I should need before I throw the carpet back in. I'm still wondering (Jean) if I should change out that remote turn on wire that you said was too large, or does it not matter? Also the original rca wires are running on the r. side of the car, should they be opposite b/c of the power cable from the battery? Thought I read that somewhere. Let me know what you think.
Run the RCAs down the driver side or even the center console, either way works. I rewired everything on my old car and ran the speaker wires down the passenger side.
Next time you want to get something from ARS, let me know. I know all the guys and they'll hook it up. I got a Dynamat trunk kit for 50 bucks when it was supposed to be 120. The shops make a killing on wiring kits so I hope you didn't have to pay too much for those...
I retired my E30 for now...

i still dont agree with you guys on the alpine. i would defenately get the alpine. why get a weak panisonic with half the features of everything else. then your gonna have to upgrade in a few months. waste of money. sonys outdate pretty quik too. go for alpine or kenwood for color and sound.
