It seems that the 5100RS you can program using your computer while the 5000RS2W you cannot. Also looks to have a few more features.

Scytek basically has one system with tons of derivatives. Both of the alarms are the same thing with different transmitters...one is "full color" (wewt).

Using the C-NET device, (serial to proprietaryScytek plug) either can be connected to a PC or Palm for programming purposes...and all of that programming can be accomplished manually as well...it is just kind of tedious.

On an important note: If you have a manual transmission, PLEASE reconsider doing a 2 way alarm with remote start. They respond too damn slowly to commands....like "hey, shut the fuck down, you are in gear".

Plus, the 2 way transmitters are much less reliable and far more frail, so they are teh suxorz.

Other than that, I love Scytek. I really do believe they are the best on the planet these days. DEI can suck my sack in all their configurations, Audiovox/CodeAlalrm has basically dropped to the bottom of the heap and Scytek makes pretty much all other alarms on the market anyway.

So basically the two way remote is good for automatic tranny and the one way is better for manual.. My car is automatic and plan on doing the 5speed when I get to germany.. So my understanding is that the 5100rs one way remote is best for my application??
